The goal of Shelby Crossroads Ministries is to let people know that God loves them so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins. As the Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 23:23). The message we bring is the gospel in a nutshell. “Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). By accepting Jesus as Savior and Lord, we can be assured of eternal life, and a home in heaven when our time on earth is over. This is what we proclaim, and what we preach.

We have come to realize that our unique experiences have equipped us for an expanded ministry in four distinct areas within the Household of Faith:

Having been divorced through no desire on his part, Clyde finds he has a special empathy for those going through, or facing the prospect of divorce. He has written a book, "Living In The Shadow Of Divorce" which has been published by Publish America Publishing company, and is available now on our web site. It is our hope many will buy and read this book for the spiritual comfort it contains. We also want to be available to offer counsel, or to be of help to anyone now facing the prospect of divorce.

Secondly, Clyde’s experience of ten years working in various capacities with the California Department of Corrections has given him a special empathy for people who have served time in prison, but now desire to live for the Lord without any reservations. Clyde’s participation in the Baptist Bible Study at Crossroads Correctional Center has only served to reinforce his resolve to pursue this area of ministry.

Finally, Clyde’s nine years service as Volunteer Chaplain at Royale Gardens Rehabilitation Hospital and Three Rivers Community Hospital in Grants Pass, Oregon, have given him a unique understanding of senior issues. The problems he has had with age-related physical infirmities has only intensified his understanding, and have proven beneficial in ministry to seniors for the past fifteen years.

Clyde has pursued a lifelong hobby of searching out the truth from sacred scripture and secular history. As a consequence, he participated in scriptural dialog and Bible Prophecy long before he ever dreamed of having the opportunity to attend seminary . . . where his hobby would turn into a vocation. Clyde loves to teach the principles as defined in scripture which are required for successful living. Seeing first hand fulfillment of Bible prophecy on a daily basis is an exciting prospect as we consider the world events that are shaping the times in which we live.

Joining us in our outreach efforts, is Clyde’s son, Tim Woodward who has the vision for reaching the lost of our world in times of crisis by ministering to their physical needs so that we can more effectively meet their spiritual needs. It seems that people tend to be more receptive to the message we bring when we come to minister to their physical needs.

We look forward to questions in any of the above areas. It is our promise that if we do not know the answer to any question fielded, we will not rest until we have found a Biblical answer to that question. What is more, we will share it, not only with the original questioner, but also with the world at large through the web site as a Devotional, or by other appropriate means.
