Hello, my name is Tim Woodward and I would like to share our vision to provide urgent aid to individuals, children and families who have lost everything to famine, poverty, or natural disaster. During my 12 years in the Army reserves,
as well as the Army National Guard as a Military Policeman, I have seen the pain and
distress of poverty, crisis, and disaster. Within the United
States, our first
responders address civil order and infrastructure issues, but what of
the emotional and physical needs of survivors? FEMA (Federal
Emergency Management Agency) was never intended to directly meet those
needs. We believe that actions speak louder than words. To reach others spiritually, we must often reach them by meeting their physical and emotional needs. In times of crisis and disaster people find themselves unable to cope or deal with the situation. Our vision is to meet the immediate physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of survivors in times of disaster. This is an overwhelming challenge that will only be accomplished by God’s working through many people both financially and by volunteering time and skill. Shelby Crossroads Ministries is currently working with our state Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and local churches such as First Baptist Church of Shelby to develop and stage disaster relief for our community. We are coordinating with volunteers to organize, train, and field our first specialty team. As we structure, equip, and train our local response team, we also prepare to assist in times of regional or national disasters. Please
consider partnering with us - your assistance, however, small, will make
a tremendous impact! Also, remember to
pray for us as we reach out to our world in the name of Christ and for
the Glory of our Father in heaven. | ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||||
